Budapest, November 2014

Four nights at the elegant and historic Danubius Astoria Hotel in Budapest with three performances at the Hungarian State Opera House.

Programme: Tosca, Giacomo Puccini’s dramatic story of love, jealousy, torture and murder, Cosi Fan Tutte by Mozart, and Die Frau ohne Schatten by Richard Strauss.

Day 1– Transfer from airport and check into Hotel – Welcome Drink and Evening Meal in Hotel.

Day 2– City coach tour taking in the Castle District and Gelert Hill – Lunch in Restaurant Callas – Guided tour of the Opera House – Evening performance of Tosca.

Day 3– Excursion to the Royal Palace at Gödöllö – Lunch in Restaurant Gundel – afternoon at leisure – Evening performance of Cosi Fan Tutte.

Day 4– Free morning in Budapest to visit the Turkish Baths or St Stephen’s Basilica – Lunch in Restaurant – Guided visit of the Lizst Ferenc Memorial Museum – Evening performance of Die Frau ohne Schatten.

Day 5– Cruise on the River Danube – Lunch in Café New York – Transfer to airport for journey home.
